Hibiscus Phytocosméticos
Contract manufacturing
Your plant does not have to run everything. We manufacture from raw material to finished product — under your brand and for your customers.
No plant runs every format with the same efficiency, and none should. Sticks, pressed powder and multifunctional products with sun protection each demand their own process, equipment and validation — an investment that rarely pays for itself on a single portfolio item.
A large share of what we produce is for other cosmetics manufacturers: companies that already manufacture, already know the process, and need a capability they do not have in house — or extra capacity at a specific moment. The product ships under your brand — and with the documentation your quality control requires.
This page answers the questions of someone already running a plant: what we produce, what we guarantee contractually, and how regulatory responsibility is divided between the parties.
Where you are
A customer asked for a format you do not produce. Turning the order down means opening the door to another supplier on that account. We produce the item under your brand and the customer stays yours.
The line is full. A seasonal peak, a filling bottleneck, or a line tied up by another product — additional capacity without hiring or buying equipment.
The formulation is yours, but filling is the bottleneck. You bring the finished bulk and we fill, label and finish it.
You want to test a category before investing. A single batch in a new format lets you measure market response before tying up capital in machinery and validation.
The product requires a substantiated claim. SPF, for instance, depends on a tested base and on documentation that supports the claim. We already hold a base and SPF 50 studies for stick and BB cream.
What we run
Facial, body, hair care and make-up ranges, in cream, gel, serum, oil, lotion, soap, balm, scrub, stick and pressed powder. The capability matrix shows the full format-by-range combination.
Formats with per-unit minimums. Stick from 500 units and pressed powder from 800 units — volumes that make entering a new format viable without committing to scale.
Multifunctional sun protection with SPF 50 studies. We maintain our own stick and BB cream bases with completed SPF 50 studies — entering the category does not require developing and testing a base from scratch. How far the studies apply to the finished product depends on the degree of customisation and on the project’s regulatory classification.
Capacity. Orders have no ceiling. The minimum is the one set for each format; above it, volume is produced in consecutive batches, with no equipment limit.
What sizes a large order is the schedule, not the plant — each format runs on its own line and lead time depends on the period's mix. Bring us the format, the quantity and the date you need it: we come back with a schedule and a feasibility answer before any commitment.
Confidentiality and commercial protection
This is the question a manufacturer asks before any other, and it is not the question a brand asks. It is not only about protecting a product idea — it is about knowing whether the production partner can become a commercial problem.
Our commitment, put in writing before any technical detail is exchanged:
- We do not approach your customer base. The channels and customers you serve do not become ours because we know your product.
- Your formulation is not supplied to anyone else. What you bring us, or what we develop specifically for you, is confidential and is not produced for another client. Technical documentation is retained solely for batch traceability and regulatory obligation.
- The relationship is not publicised. We do not name clients, do not use logos and do not publish identifiable cases without written authorisation.
Scope: from raw material to finished product
We work at four levels, and you choose where we come in:
Raw material to spec
Ingredient manufacturing
- For ingredient distributors and manufacturers with their own raw material
- Technical data sheet, SDS and CoA per batch
Bulk
Batch ready for filling
- We manufacture and deliver for filling on your line
Filling and finishing
You bring the bulk
- We fill, label and finish
- Solves the bottleneck when the formulation is yours
Full service
Ready to distribute
- Formula, raw materials, production, filling, labelling and regulatory approval
- The format of most projects
Your own formula. We manufacture formulations you already hold. We adapt them to our process, validate them in a pilot batch and produce. The formulation remains yours: it does not enter our library of bases, nor does it serve as a starting point for another project.
Compliance and documentation
We hold full licences across every regulatory body relevant to cosmetics manufacturing in Brazil — Anvisa, IBAMA, CETESB, the Civil Police, the Federal Police and the Army (DFPC) — operating under Good Manufacturing Practices.
In practice, contracting a licensed, documented, audit-open plant reduces the operational risk of outsourcing. The technical and regulatory responsibilities of each party are still defined by the product, the ownership arrangement and the contract.
Every batch ships with the documentation your quality control needs to release the product and to answer an audit:
- Test report and certificate of analysis (CoA) — per batch produced
- Raw material traceability — from supplier to batch
- Retention sample — held for the product's shelf life
- Calibrated instruments — periodic calibration with metrological traceability
- Audit — your quality team may audit our facilities
Regulatory ownership
Product registration can be held by your company or by Hibiscus, depending on how the project is structured. Each arrangement carries its own implications for technical responsibility, for how easily you can change supplier, and for the cost of fees.
For an industrial client that already holds its own operating authorisation and registrations, keeping ownership is the most common route — the product enters your portfolio and stays yours, regardless of who manufactures it. We set out the paths in Anvisa registration.
Volumes and lead times
Minimum order of 20 kg per SKU for products sold by weight; from 500 units for stick and 800 units for pressed powder — for formats counted by piece, the exact number depends on the packaging specified. Up to 30 days from briefing to first sample and 10 working days of production, counted from the arrival of raw materials.
For technology transfer with a formula already defined, development is shorter — the work concentrates on process adaptation and pilot batch validation.
How it starts
A signed NDA before any technical information changes hands. Then the scope: format, estimated volume, whether the formula comes from you or from us, and whether the service is full or bulk only. With that we can answer on feasibility and lead time before either side invests.
If you manufacture and need a capability you do not have — or extra capacity — talk to a specialist. The conversation starts with technical scope, not a sales pitch.
