Clean beauty and vegan are not a separate range in our portfolio: they are a formulation criterion that applies to any range — facial, body, hair or make-up. We do not test on animals, and clean beauty and vegan formulations are available across every category we produce.

What changes compared with a conventional project is the discipline: every ingredient goes in by deliberate decision, and every statement on the label has to hold up in the formula that leaves here.

The point that decides the project: the claim

“Natural”, “vegan” and “clean” do not mean the same thing to everyone, and that is where projects stall. Before the bench, the briefing has to answer what exactly the brand is going to claim:

Absence of ingredients of animal origin. This is the most objective criterion and the one the formulation addresses directly — raw material selection is built around it from the start.

Absence of specific ingredient families. Parabens, sulphates, silicones, mineral oils. Each exclusion has a technical consequence for preservation, sensory profile and stability, and it is better to settle the list at the briefing than at the third sample.

Percentage of natural origin. This requires defining the calculation reference before promising a number on the label.

Certification seal. Certification is granted to the brand by a certifying body, not to the manufacturer. If your project intends to carry a seal, bring the certifier’s standard to the briefing: it becomes a formulation and documentation requirement, not a later adjustment.

The rule cuts both ways. A claim the formulation does not support is a regulatory problem, not a positioning choice. We would rather discuss it at the briefing, while changing is still cheap, than after the sample is approved.

What the formulation has to solve

Removing an ingredient is easy; keeping the product standing without it is the work. The three fronts that always come up:

Preservation. Alternative preservative systems have their own pH range, spectrum and concentration. It is the variable that most determines the rest of the formula.

Sensory profile. Spreadability, dry touch and finish are what the consumer notices first, and much of that came precisely from the families the project wants to exclude. Replacing them without losing the sensory profile is what consumes the sample rounds.

Stability. Every formula goes through stability testing before any launch — and formulations with alternative systems deserve that stage with extra attention.

Ranges this applies to

All of them. Facial, body, hair and make-up — in cream, gel, serum, oil, lotion, soap, balm, scrub, stick and pressed powder. The minimum is the same as the rest of the portfolio: 20 kg per SKU for products sold by weight and, for formats counted by piece, from 500 units for stick and 800 for pressed powder — a number that settles once the packaging is specified.

Regulatory status and packaging

Clean beauty and vegan cosmetics follow the same route as the rest: most are exempt from registration and enter through prior notification to Anvisa — see the registration guide. Exempt from registration does not mean exempt from obligations: the product information dossier and labelling compliance remain the responsibility of the registration holder, and that is exactly where a poorly founded claim surfaces.

On packaging, we guide the specification — material and compatibility with the formula. Purchasing stays with you and your suppliers. And we offset 100% of our plastic packaging through Eureciclo certification, which concerns our operation, not your product: it is a fact about the factory you contract, not a seal that transfers to your label.
